East of Uptown Charlotte, the Plaza Midwood historic district is a haven for individuals who seek a taste of hip and history in one setting. Eclectic and host to a diverse population, Plaza Midwood is home to an array of antique shops, upscale clothing boutiques, tattoo parlors, and more. It’s easy to explore everything Plaza Midwood has to offer, as it’s one of the most walkable districts in Charlotte.
But if one aims to really get to know Charlotte’s artistic side, NoDa (short for North Davidson) is the place to be. Known as Charlotte’s historic art district, NoDa is a highly attractive community that draws plenty of crowds with its collection of art galleries and restaurants. Plaza Midwood and NoDa are estimated to have a total of 45,520 residents.
Elizabeth is one community not to be forgotten. Located just a few minutes from Uptown Charlotte, Elizabeth shares its neighbors taste for hip culture and history. Majority of the community is part of the National Register of Historic Places. The population according to 2015 estimates is at around 5,310, making Elizabeth a quiet and laidback neighborhood.
